Sound Healing & Vibrational Therapies
“Sound, vibration, frequencies, energy, are the Universal language that connects us all to one another, to our universe, to our cosmos, and beyond…”
Everything in the universe is in constant motion. We are all an infinitesimal or subatomic particle of the whole. Meaning, we contain within ourselves all of creation. We are individual expressions of creation. Sound is everywhere in nature and has been used for wellbeing and healing practices through millennia. Our ancestors knew the power of sound and vibration. Incorporating these sounds in their daily lives allowed them to maintain a higher vibration as they commune in nature, harmonized in it, were an intrinsic part of it, and respected it.
As we have “evolved” into a modern way of living, we have detached from our nature. We have disconnected ourselves from our source of wellness causing misalignment which ultimately translates into a depleted body that may show signs of malaise, illnesses, neurological, pathological, psychological or physiological damage. Besides viruses, bacteria, pollutants and allergens, most of the diseases we see are directly linked with stressors our modern societies impose on our minds, bodies, and emotions causing a huge disconnect. We need to find ways to reclaim our own healing abilities to bring ourselves into alignment.
What are the benefits of sound healing and vibrational therapies?
Our bodies are natural resonators. Sound is a powerful tool for transformation as well as an essential nutrient for our nervous system. Whether we use tuning forks, singing bowls, gongs, didgeridoos, drums, bells, chimes, singing, chanting, mantras, etc., the positive effects on the human body and our health can be profound. When the body is out of tune, just like a musical instrument before it can play beautiful sounds, it needs to be tuned. A wise healer seeks to restore the body’s own natural harmony. A wise patient opens him/herself with trust to receive the tuning.
Harmonics can create physiological changes as it slows down our respiration and heartbeats, changing brainwave activity, releasing certain hormones and neurotransmitters to access altered states of consciousness. It is ultimately in the intention of healer/patient; giver/receiver; practitioner/recipient; and the frequency used we attain the desired outcome.
In my practice, it never ceases to amaze me the obvious “before (symptoms) and after (results)” with each session. Some of my first-time clients experiencing these therapies are blown away with the capacity of their own mind-body-soul connection to be re-established through such seemingly simple methods.
